Accessibility Statement

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced by the European standard EN 301 549, the EU Accessibility Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and South Africa's Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act (PEPUDA).

We do not yet claim full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. A formal audit is in progress, and accessibility is an ongoing programme rather than a one-time task. This statement will be updated as we make improvements.

• On-screen captions during sessions. When your companion speaks, what it says appears on screen as text, and your own speech is shown as text as you talk. You can follow a live session by reading, without relying on hearing the audio. (This is a live, rolling view of the most recent exchanges; it is intentionally not saved as a permanent transcript.)
• Screen-reader announcements. Live session status and captions use assistive-technology "live region" announcements (ARIA role="status" / aria-live), so a screen reader can announce state changes and the companion's words.
• Zoom and text resizing. The app allows pinch-to-zoom and browser zoom up to 500% without loss of content, so you can enlarge text and controls.
• Skip to main content. A "Skip to main content" link is the first element keyboard and screen-reader users reach on every page, so you can jump straight past the header to the page content (WCAG 2.4.1).
• Visible keyboard focus. When you move through the app with the keyboard, the element you are on shows a clear focus outline, so you always know where you are (WCAG 2.4.7).
• Reduced motion. If your device is set to "reduce motion", the app honours it app-wide - animations and transitions are minimised and smooth-scrolling is turned off (WCAG 2.3.3).

We want to be honest about where we are not yet accessible:

• Voice-first interaction. Today, speaking is the primary way to interact with the companion during a live session. A text-input alternative (type instead of speak) is built and being rolled out; until it is generally available, users who cannot use voice should contact us (below) so we can assist.
• Captions are a rolling view of the most recent exchanges, not a full saved transcript of the session.
• Formal WCAG 2.1 AA audit in progress. Some areas - including full keyboard-only operation of every control and colour-contrast in every state - have not yet been fully audited or remediated and may not currently conform.

If any feature of MyNeuroPod is not accessible to you, please contact us and we will help. Where a part of the service is not yet accessible, we will work with you to provide the same information or functionality through an alternative accessible method, and we will prioritise a fix.

We treat accessibility as continuous work. We are prioritising a text-input alternative to voice, a formal WCAG 2.1 AA audit and remediation, and keyboard and screen-reader improvements. We review this statement at least annually and whenever we make significant changes to the service.
